Dr. Puertas graduated in Medicine and Surgery at the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry at the University of Valencia in 1993. He holds a diploma in Advanced Studies (DEA) from the Department of Physiology, Pharmacology and Toxicology at CEU Cardinal Herrera University of Valencia in 2004. Specialist in Clinical Neurophysiology, La Fe University Hospital of Valencia in 1997. Inter-University “Waking and Sleeping” Diploma, Faculty of Medicine at the University of Montpellier (France) in 1998. Sleep Medicine Minifellowship, American Academy of Sleep Medicine, Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota USA, May-June 2002. Doctorate Degree from CEU Cardinal Herrera University of Valencia in July 2006.
He is currently Coordinator of the Department of Neurophysiology and the Unit of Sleep Disorders at the La Ribera University Hospital, Alzira, Valencia, where he has been since January 1999, as well as being associate professor in the Department of Physiology at the University of Valencia, since October 2001.
